The Challenge

The ferronickel processing plant's gas recovery system experienced unstable combustion in the rotary kiln due to uneven gas mixture caused by large dust particles in the gas stream. A high-capacity dust separation system was required that could handle the large volume of process gases while reliably removing heavy particles before they reached the burner.

Our Solution

Designed a large-volume multi-channel cyclone dust collector with a complex internal swirler system. Centrifugal force throws heavy dust particles outward along the collector wall into the collection hopper below, while clean gas exits through the top outlet. The multi-channel design handles high gas volumes while maintaining separation efficiency. Lifting lugs integrated for installation and maintenance access.

Scope of Work

Full mechanical design, cyclone geometry and swirler system calculation, collection hopper design, inlet duct and outlet connection design, structural reinforcement frame, lifting lug placement, complete 3D modeling and engineering documentation for Pronico Guatemala facility.

Result

Successfully installed at Pronico Guatemala ferronickel plant. Stable gas mixture composition achieved at the rotary kiln burner, significantly improving combustion consistency and kiln operational reliability.
